Terms & Conditions for Celebrant Services
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Aileen Everett (“the Celebrant”, “I”, “me”, or “my”). By booking my services, “you” or “we” (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Services Provided
I provide bespoke celebrant services for ceremonies including (but not limited to) weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, funerals, memorials, and other life events.
Each ceremony is individually crafted based on information provided by the Client.
I am not responsible for any legal registration of marriages or partnerships. Clients must arrange all legal formalities with the relevant authorities. For ceremonies to be recognised by law in England, you must also fulfil the legal requirements at a Registry Office.
We agree to follow National Record England guidance when registering the Marriage. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this.
Booking & Payment
A non‑refundable booking fee of 30% is required to secure the ceremony date and we understand that this is non- refundable. The non-refundable booking fee is due within 7 days of agreeing your date of your ceremony and is not legally confirmed until the fee is paid in full. If the booking fee is not received within 7 days, Aileen Everett reserves the right to release the date and take another booking for the date in question.
The remaining balance is due 28 days before the ceremony.
Payments can be made via [bank transfer / card].
Cancellation & Refunds
If the Client cancels: The booking fee is non‑refundable under all circumstances.
We agree that if Aileen Everett is unable to perform our ceremony due to illness or any other unavoidable situation, she will try her very best to arrange a replacement celebrant and he / she will share the wedding ceremony plans/script.
We agree that in the event we should have to cancel Aileen Everett services the following will apply:
None of the staged payments once made are refunded as Aileen Everett may have turned down other work to save the date exclusively.
If the draft has been written, then Aileen Everett reserves the right to be paid for the planning and writing of the ceremony.
To exercise the right to cancel, we agree to inform Aileen Everett via email — at our earliest convenience.
I am not liable for any additional costs incurred by the Client.
Changes to Ceremony Details
Any changes to the ceremony date, time, or location must be communicated as soon as possible.
Changes are subject to my availability and may incur additional fees (e.g., travel, accommodation).
If I am unable to accommodate the new arrangements, this will be treated as a client cancellation.
Client Responsibilities
The Client must provide accurate and complete information for the creation of the ceremony script.
The Client is responsible for securing the venue, obtaining permissions, and ensuring the ceremony environment is safe.
The Client must ensure all legal requirements (if applicable) are fulfilled independently of the Celebrant.
Travel & Additional Costs
Travel within 30miles of RG40 is included.
Additional travel, accommodation, or special requirements will be charged at the rate of 45p per mile.
Script Approval
A draft script will be provided for review.
The Client may request reasonable edits.
Final approval must be given no later than 7 days before the ceremony.
Images and Testimonials
We agree to give Aileen Everett permission to use our wedding ceremony photographs for the sole purpose of promotion of her services and we agree to email Aileen Everett within 7 days of booking to opt out.
We are fully aware that failure to opt out may result in the images being posted on Aileen Everett website www.aileeneverett.com or via any social media platforms.
We are aware that we may be asked to provide a short-written testimonial; however, we are in no way obligated to provide this.
Liability
I am not liable for: Delays or disruptions caused by third parties, weather, or events outside my control.
Any loss, damage, or injury occurring at the ceremony venue.
My liability is limited to the total amount paid for the celebrant services.
Conduct
I reserve the right to withdraw services if:• I am subjected to abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour.
The ceremony environment is unsafe.
In such cases, no refund will be issued.
Privacy & Data Protection
All personal information is handled in accordance with UK GDPR.
Information is used solely for the purpose of creating and delivering the ceremony.
Data will not be shared with third parties without consent unless required by law.
Copyright
We agree that all written documents relating to our ceremony script are copyrighted to
© Aileen Everett and no reproduction or sharing with others is permitted.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Confidentiality
We are aware that all the information that we give to Aileen Everett will be treated as confidential and she will not disclose any of it to any third party without our express permission.
Aileen Everett will manage all your personal information in accordance with the law, including the new Data Protection Regulations Act 2018.
All correspondence, documentation and the ceremony script will be kept confidential, except for any third parties who have been included in development and delivery of the marriage ceremony.
Insurance and Professional Affiliation
We are aware that Aileen Everett is a full member of The Academy of Professional Celebrants (APC) and adheres to their codes of practice and fully insured with cover of
£4,000, 000 for public and product liability.
